RAUL ROSCO GUERRERO

Rosco Guerrero is a Los Angeles-based Latino writer, director, producer, and storyteller whose work spans narrative film, television, documentaries, commercials, music videos, comics, and branded entertainment.

The son of an Ecuadorian surrealist novelist and a Peruvian social worker, Rosco was shaped equally by art, adversity, and a rough upbringing that fostered a lifelong fascination with storytelling, folklore, crime, obsession, and the darker corners of the human experience. Those influences continue to inform a creative voice drawn to outsiders, hidden worlds, and characters searching for meaning in impossible circumstances. Whether working in horror, thrillers, documentaries, or character-driven drama, his projects often explore the tension between hope and destruction, ambition and consequence.

Rosco began his professional career during the rise of electronic dance music, becoming a sought-after filmmaker in the EDM aftermovie scene. Touring internationally with artists including Tiësto, Deadmau5, Knife Party, The Crystal Method, Dada Life, and others, he developed a distinctive visual style that blended cinematic storytelling with documentary immediacy.

He later transitioned into directing music videos and commercials, first through the Beatport network and eventually as an independent director working with major record labels including Universal Music Group, Roc Nation, Island Records, Arista Records, Epitaph Records, Fueled By Ramen, Black Hole Recordings, Artery Recordings, and others.

His music video credits include work for Tinashe, American Authors, Summer Salt, Grandson, Tower of Power, Young Rising Sons, Roe Kapara, Drop Dead, Gorgeous, and numerous emerging and established artists. Several of his collaborations with Tinashe received widespread media attention, including a video that premiered nationally during The Kelly Clarkson Show Christmas Day special. His work has accumulated many millions of views and has been featured by publications including Rolling Stone, Billboard, VICE, Nylon, and other major entertainment outlets.

In the commercial space, Rosco has directed campaigns and branded content for companies including BMW, MINI, Subaru, Afterpay, and other national brands. His work is known for combining grounded performances, energetic camera movement, and cinematic visuals with an authentic, human-centered approach to storytelling.

While directing became his profession, writing has always remained at the center of his creative identity. After establishing himself in Los Angeles and signing with management at Sandstone Artists, Rosco expanded his focus into original narrative development across film and television.

His award-winning short films have screened internationally and earned recognition for both writing and directing. Mary won Best Horror Short at the Freak Show Horror Film Festival, Bobby received Best Short honors at the Copper Mountain Film Festival, and Lucy's Last Song earned multiple awards, including Best Director, Best Short Film, and the Audience Award at the Burbank International Film Festival, where the award was presented by acclaimed filmmaker Tim Burton. His short film Palm Trees was presented by Film Shortage and screened to a packed audience in Los Angeles.

As a SCREENWRITER, his feature screenplay Paradise was set up at Zero Gravity Productions with director Gregg Simon (Captive, Hemlock Grove) attached. His television pilot Follow the Money is currently packaged and being pitched by the Gersh Agency, with Michael Smith (Law & Order: SVU, Suits) producing.

He also optioned his feature treatment for MINE, a Kentucky-set creature feature, and attached Eduardo Sánchez, co-creator of The Blair Witch Project, as an executive producer. The film is slated to mark Rosco’s feature directorial debut.

He is currently completing an open writing commission adapting existing IP for television while producing a feature documentary about the Los Angeles EDM scene through the lens of the EC Twins. The documentary features Tara Reid, Paul Oakenfold, and Redfoo of LMFAO.

Outside of production, Rosco mentors men in recovery-focused rehabilitation programs; work grounded in service and humility that continues to shape the values at the heart of his storytelling.

Beyond traditional screenwriting, Rosco has created mythology, lore, and narrative worlds for comics, mobile games, and visual effects-driven advertising campaigns. He is also the creator of the comic series Atara, a dark fantasy-horror property centered on the cost of desire and sacrifice.

In the documentary space, Rosco has developed and packaged projects ranging from true crime and investigative journalism to paranormal and reality-based programming. His documentary work has involved collaborations with established producers, journalists, historians, survivors, and subject-matter experts across a variety of genres.

Rosco Guerrero is represented by Sandstone Artists and lives in Los Angeles, California. When not on set or writing, he can usually be found at the gym, training Muay Thai, or wandering Studio City with a coffee in hand and a notebook full of half-finished ideas.
